SANGSABU SCHOOL IN NEPAL

Following a wonderful presentation by Rotarian Tim Mitchell from Bristol North Rotary Club on the Pahar Trust a charity set up to build schools for the children in Nepal

Sunrise agreed to help raise part of the £7,700 to renovate and refurbish a school in Sangsabu in Nepal which was badly damaged by an earthquake. Bristol North have a partner club in Nepal RC Pokhara Fishtail and they have agreed and authorised their part of the RI Global Grant form.

They have plans to completely refurbish 2 classroom blocks badly damaged by the earthquake and provide new sanitary facilities and an improved water supply.

Part of the refurbishment will render them earthquake proof and Pahar Trust
Nepal will supervise the work to ensure it is also completed to the required standards.
The refurbished blocks will be fully wired to allow the school to take advantage
of an offer of new computers from the Nepal Government and the improved facility
will allow them to pursue their further plans to extend the school

As a club we regularly get involved with
both Aquabox and Shelterbox. The life sustaining boxes are sent to areas where there has been a disaster. To date we have donated sufficient funds to sponsor 42 Shelterboxes
( over £23,000)
